Unitrex was a popular company in the 70's 80's, and made many calculators, from the LED models, to the Plasma display , VFD and finally a few LCD models.
One of the desktop model was the 1200:

Rather large model, big keys, Plasma display for a nice readable output. Only the basic operations, though. As this model was popular, they made a special version of it, called the EXECUTIVE, and targeting the higher level office employees. The calculator was enclosed in a nice carved walnut box, and would elegantly be part of the desk:

Of course, one of the the models I own has seen some use and shows it. But this proves that it was useful and enjoyed by his previous owner.
Opening the box reveals the calculator, and switches it on (hidden switch).

This is the same layout as the Unitrex 1200, but specially made to be part of this box. You can't remove it from the box.
The Plasma display is bright and Orange, and was appreciated at that time because the numbers were bigger than the LED, and easier to read.
No battery inside, takes the power from the AC.

I recently found a similar box, containing a different device, but I thought it would be so "chic" to have these 2 boxes on your desk, if you were an executive in the 1980's!
