The CASIO AT-
First of all, it's very elegant:
It doesn't look at all like a nerdy watch, with a gigantic keyboard, or switches everywhere.
But Where is the calculator? You have to press the Mode switch, and the calculator is displayed in the small LCD window:
And now, how do you enter the digits?
You simply have to DRAW them on the screen. Yes, it is a touch screen, AND a digitizer. And we are in 1984 Another incredible product from Casio. The PDA are still to be invented, and I am not talking smart watches, this will be 30 years later.
You simply draw the numbers, and draw the operation. Of course, you have the 4 basic operations.
It takes some time to get used to it, because it's recommended to draw the numbers in a certain way. The digitizer was one of the first and of course did not understand all the subtilities of manual writing. However I was able to draw all numbers and get them recognized in a few minutes.
This is really a milestone in the history of watches and if you are lucky enough to find one for sale (still working) don't hesitate. They are in short supply !!
Below is a small video to demo the watch and show the overall look. The video does not really show how beautiful this watch is....
